CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

Clubs and Organizations: There are 190 clubs and organizations on Chapman’s campus focused on anything from fitness and wellness, civic engagement, and academic clubs. At Chapman, we are really focused on being engaged on campus and clubs are a fantastic way to do this.

There is a club for everyone on campus and it is a great place to meet friends and have a good time. Chapman holds an involvement fair once a semester where different clubs and organization table their group in Attallah Plaza.

This is a great opportunity for students and clubs to broaden their horizons and gain new membership. It is always a good idea to walk around your campus involvement fair and see what is new on your campus. My thinking is you can never be too involved.

MY EXPERIENCE

I am a very active person and love to get involved on my campus and make the most out of my time at Chapman. I am a member of the snow club, outdoors club, beach volleyball club, and a professional fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi.

So as you can see I try to stay involved even as a freshman. I have really enjoyed my time in all of these clubs and organizations but my favorite is Alpha Kappa Psi.

Alpha Kappa Psi is the largest business fraternity in the nation and our Rho Chi chapter on campus prides yourself on professionalism, leadership, and excellence. The Rho Chi chapter is about 110 members strong and for me is a great place to meet with like-minded individuals and is where I have met most of my friends.

How do I choose the right club for me?

Finding clubs is a fun process and my advice is to sign up for anything that sounds interesting to you. You can go to some events to see if you like it and if you don't attendance is not mandatory so just leave. Who knows you might find your best friends so give it a chance!

How do I manage being active in clubs and school work?

The biggest piece of advise is to create a well organized schedule and make sure you put school work as #1 priority. Some times it is important to take breaks from school work but make sure it comes first.

How do I find clubs on my campus?

All campuses have involvement fairs where clubs table and take sign ups for new members. This is a great chance to put yourself out there and see what you are interested in.

When is the best time to join clubs?

The best time is whatever time works for you. If you can get involved the sooner the better. This will give you more time to figure out what you like and make new friends.

What are the benefits of AKPsi

AKPsi is a professional fraternity so we focus on personal and professional development. We do this through professional development events, alumni mentorship, and mock interviews. Personally, AKPsi is a group of like-minded individuals who come together in Brotherhood and Unity and create forever friendships and connections. Although it is a professional fraternity there is a very strong bond within the fraternity and it is an amazing environment for everyone.

Why should incoming Freshman get involved in AKPsi

AKPsi offers extremely valuable tools for all students. On the professional side, students are able to have a polished resume and strong interviewing skills. On the personal side, students get to connect with likeminded individuals and create long-lasting relationships. As far as social aspects AKPsi offers Date Parties and Formals every semester where brothers can enjoy themselves and make great memories.

I don't think I'm the right fit for a business fraternity.

Everyone is a great fit for AKPsi. We are open to all majors and love to see new faces and fresh ideas. As long as you want to improve yourself professionally and personally AKPsi is a great fit for you. It is an amazing way to be active on campus and you also have the flexibility to join a social fraternity or sorority in addition to being in AKPsi.
